Following an international search, Expo 2020 Dubai engaged AGB Events as Creative Consultants for Al Wasl Plaza.

Expo 2020 needed a creative consultancy to provide strategic guidance, curatorial expertise, and industry knowledge to plan exceptional experiences within Al Wasl Plaza. Located in the heart of the site, Al Wasl Plaza will host for opening closing ceremonies, daily programming, and nightly 360-degree projection shows on its dome.  Expo 2020 sought a consultancy to strategise creative and technical solutions that would create an environment that is captivating and universally accessible.

Expo 2020 selected AGB Events due to our experience in applying visual storytelling through accessible mediums such as sound, light, and visual arts.  Having seen our work in Vivid Sydney, Expo 2020 were impressed with AGB’s talents in creating audience interactivity that is uncomplicated, minimalistic, and graceful.

Understanding that the plaza was a significant and iconic venue for Expo, AGB developed a precinct brand identity to ensure the venue reflected the personality and characteristics of the host country. The creative strategy ensured the visitor experience was culturally authentic and specific to the unique attributes of Dubai.

Complementary to the creative strategy, AGB developed detailed technical specifications to inform creative capability and guide procurement plans.  This process included identification of significant platform enhancements to ensure the latest projection equipment and technologies were catered for in the venue. These specifications were overlayed with  broadcast and audience considerations and operational requirements to ensure the precinct is world-class and equipped for state-of-the-art production delivery for years to come.
